Knowledge, insight gained by McCool Junction FFA members
2/20/2009 12:26:36 PM

Twelve McCool Junction FFA Members and Advisor-Dana Hall attended the Dr. David Kohl Seminar on Friday, January 23 at Stone Creek Event Center sponsored by York State Bank. In addition to the McCool Junction FFA chapter, Heartland FFA members were also in attendance as well as many area farmers.

Attendees of the seminar were encouraged to be positive about agriculture but stay diversified.  He also encouraged both producers and students to keep records up to date, think globally and act locally, have a marketing plan, he also stressed that cash and liquidity are King!  He stressed to get better before you get bigger!

Dr. Kohl also stressed to the younger crowd the importance of managing credit card debt and for everyone to know what credit score ranking they have.  Many other thoughts and knowledge were taken away from the seminar.  The students and other attendees enjoyed Dr. Kohl's up beat, easy to understand and positive approach to agriculture and economics as a whole.

McCool Junction FFA Members were excited to be the recipients of a drawing from York State Bank for $200.  The chapter plans on using it for State Convention or Banquet expenses this spring.  Members would like to thank everyone who made the event such a worthwhile experience.
