2/20/2009 12:27:59 PM
February 23th through the 27rd the Shickley FFA will be participating in fun-filled activities to celebrate National FFA Week.
In preparation for the week students developed signs to be displayed around businesses in the community and in the school.
Activities will start off with the annual elementary coloring contest on Monday which will run through out the week, and it will also be shake hands day.
Tuesday will be the annual farmer/business breakfast. It will run from 6:30 a.m.- 8 a.m.
Wednesday, members and the other students are encouraged to drive tractors to school, dress like a city slicker day and donut sales will take place, a day enjoyed by everyone.
Thursday, dress like a cowboy, candy for the elementary who ever dresses like a cowboy.
Friday, is camo and hunter day. The results of the coloring contest and the winner of the FFA jacket raffle will be announced on Friday to round out the week.
Our chapter would like to thank all those who help make our FFA chapter viable in our local community through their support and look forward to your continued support in the future.
The Shickley FFA held an all members meeting on Thursday, February 5, to discuss National FFA Week. The members were also invited to eat chili before the meeting begin. After everyone was done eating we continued on to our meeting.
First we broke into groups to try to get ideas about things we could do for National FFA Week. When they came up with an idea they wrote it on a big piece of paper hanging on the wall.
When we were done discussing about National FFA Week, we had the members sign up to work for the annual FFA breakfast, which will be held on February 24, beginning at 6 and going to 8.
Mr. Straight then let everyone know that the officers will begin working on the chapter rating. This then concluded our meeting and everyone helped clean things up for Mr. Straight.
