Harlan FFA teams place 1st, 3rd and 7th in livestock judging

Three Harlan FFA teams competed in the Iowa Pork Congress livestock judging contests. Seventy-nine teams consisting of 275 members competed. Harlan teams placed 1st, 3rd and 7th. Members of the 1st place team, each receiving a $500 scholarship, were Ryan Fahn, Daniel Ohms, Nate Pattee and Daniel Schaben. The 3rd place team consisting of Brandon Weis, Skyler Peters and Nathan Ohms all received a $100 scholarship. Brandon Weis, Ryan Fahn and Daniel Ohms placed in the top 10.
Members of the 7th place team were Taylor Assmann, Dustin Muell, Emily Hundt and Jessica Ring. Six students also participated in the Iowa Beef Expo Judging contest. The Harlan team place 18th of 32 teams. Those participating were Emily Hundt, Taylor Assmann, Tyler Schwery, Dustin Muell, Jessica Ring and Skylar Peters. Emily Hundt and Taylor Assmann were the high individuals for Harlan.
