Red Cloud FFA performs well at LSE

The Red Cloud FFA Chapter traveled to Aurora on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2009, for leadership skills events. The students competed in a variety of events that highlighted their leadership skills. 17 students competed in seven separate events. Sophomore, Shelby Peters won the Junior Public Speaking Contest with her speech about Equine Colic. Shelby will be representing our District at the State Contest in April.
The Junior Parliamentary Procedure Team of Taylor Neiman, Shelby Peters, McKayla Kucera, Emma Bohrer, Kimberly Morris, Maggie Jackson and Brittany Lewis earned the top blue ribbon and are alternates for the State Competition. The Senior Parliamentary Procedure team of Sarah Nolan, Aliese Hoffman, Patrick Hoit, Lee Armstrong, Nick Campos and Aaron Wescoat received a red ribbon. The Agricultural Demonstration team of JayDee Snell, Ryan Lammers and Cody Winslow received a red ribbon with their Artificial Insemination presentation.
Sophomore Brittany Lewis received a red ribbon for her Natural Resource Speech about the Republican River Riparian Project.
In Job Interview, Senior Aliese Hoffman received a red ribbon and freshman Dakota Delka earned a blue ribbon in the FFA Creed Speaking Contest.
The Chapter is currently preparing for Career Development Events which will be held in March at CCC in Hastings. The students will be competing in contests like Welding, Meats, Natural Resources, Food Science, Ag Business, Ag Mechanics and a number of other areas.
