Congratulations to the Hyannis FFA members who participated in the District AG ED Contests on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 in Kimball, NE.  Eighteen kids attend these contests competing in Meats Judging, Senior Livestock Judging, and Junior Livestock Judging.

The meats team consisting of Seth Ramsay, Colby Meyers, Jamie Menuey, Willie Wright, and Trevor Evans did some house cleaning bringing home a first place plaque as a team. Individually Seth Ramsay placed 1st, Colby Meyers 2nd, Jamie Menuey 4th, and tied for 5th place was Willie Wright and Trevor Evans.

Amanda Johnson, Jeff Cover, Kolt Osentowski, Hazy Nielson, Matt Ferguson, and Alexus Anthony made up the Senior Livestock Judging team. In the top ten individuals were Amanda (7) and Matt (10). Everyone else did a great job holding their own against the 50 other senior judgers.

The Junior Livestock Judging team also had a good showing at the contest. On this team were Chelsea Altena, Gunnar Johnson, Colton Hoover, Dakota Schmidt, and William Wonnacott. I am very proud of everyone and I’m looking forward to taking the Meats team to State in April!
