Burwell FFA has exciting State Convention

   The Burwell FFA Chapter has been busy the past few months. National FFA Week we had Blue and Gold Day, Elementary Coloring Contest and these pictures were then displayed at State FFA Convention, Teacher Appreciation Breakfast Business Appreciation Breakfast, and Ag Olympics.
   The Burwell FFA Chapter just concluded an exciting State FFA Convention. Eleven members attended along with our advisor Mr. Anderson and Barb Stanek our other sponsor. Members attending were Jordan Anderson, Cassie Kludt, Megan Cassidy, Ethan Kovarik, Lindsey Vancura, Cory Johnson, Warren Michalski, Tucker Stout, Scott Jeffres, Anna Owen, and James Porter.
   The Agronomy team placed eighth in the state. Cory Johnson received a purple ribbon, Tucker Stout a Blue and Warren Michalski a red. Also on the team was James Porter. The Sr. Livestock Judging team received a red. Team members were Lindsey Vancura receiving a blue, Megan Cassidy a red ribbon and Cassie Kludt a white.
   Jordan Anderson received a purple in Farm Business Mgt Also competing was Cassie Kludt. Results are still being sorted in Agriscience however Scott Jeffres received a white other teammates were Anna Owen and James Porter.
   Burwell FFA members receiving the State FFA Degree were Jordan Anderson and Cassie Kludt.
   The highlight of the convention was Jordan Anderson being named Nebraska State Star in Placement and Then being named as a Nebraska State Officer as a Vice President.
   Jordan will now represent Nebraska FFA and Agriculture at Washington DC, various other states and still to be named foreign countries.
   Coming up will be officer elections, FFA Banquet on April 18, Highway cleanup on April 20, and Hazardous Waste Cleanup on May 9.
   We continue to serve our school and community while helping members achieve their goals.
