Loup City FFA wrapping up ’08-09

   The Loup City FFA has had a busy year with many exciting events still left to come. Adopt-A-Highway trash clean-up will take place after school on April 20th. Leadership Night will be held on May 8th to recognize Discovery, Greenhand, Chapter and State degree winners, along with installing the new 2009-2010 Loup City FFA Officer Team.
   The following day, the FFA will be helping the Household Recycling to recycle old cell phones and computers. The new officer team will then prepare to attend COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training) in May. The chapter also plans on doing many fun events in the summer such as activities and fundraisers at the Sherman County Fair, a FFA Barbeque, and FFA Recruitment Night to teach the upcoming junior high about the FFA Organization.
   Recently, the senior livestock judging team received second at the District 9 Judging contest held at the Pitzer Ranch. Team members include Nick Baker, Judd Jarzynka (7th individual), Jed Sekutera (2nd individual) and April Rademacher.
   The team went on to compete at the State FFA Contest and received a blue ribbon. Other teams have also had a successful season. The junior high team consisting of Heath Spotanski, Riley Spotanski, and Austin Jakubowski receive the first place plaque at the Wheeler Central High School Alumni Judging. The team consisting of Austin Bochart, Austin Jakubowski, Reilly Lambrecht, and Cole Lambrecht brought home a second place finish at the District 9 Livestock Judging.
