S-E-M shines at State FFA Convention

   On April 1-3, 2009 the S-E-M FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention held in Lincoln. Results, ribbons and placings were as follows: Ag Sales: Alec Ibach- Red, Megan Berg- Red, Team including Sara Simmons and Deidra Brooks received a White ribbon placing in the top half. Agronomy: Josh Samford-Red, Dylan Smith- Red and Travis Line-White, and the team including Jake Rohde earned a Red placing in the top half. Natural Resources: John Frerichs-Red and Josh Samford-White. Junior Livestock Judging: Lauren Ibach 1st and Purple, Dillan Line- Purple, and Brandon Trampe-Red, the team including Sara Simmons was 3rd overall.

   The Junior Parliamentary Procedure Team including Megan Berg, Sara Simmons, Lauren Ibach, Deidra Brooks, Lance English, Austin Pierce, Nissa Brown, and Dillan Line as alternate received a Bronze. The Ag Demonstration Team including Emily Ibach, Jake Rohde, Travis Line, Ben Trampe, and John Freichs earned a Bronze award. Meats: Tabitha Anderson received a Red. Ag Communications: Lauren Ibach-1st and Gold, Jake Rohde-Red, and Deidra Brooks- Red. Agriscience: Dillan Line- Purple, Brandon Trampe- 6th  Purple, Lance English- Purple, and Austin Pierce- Blue, Senior Livestock Judging: Ben Trampe- Blue, Proficiency Awards: Emily Ibach- Agriculture Processing 1st Gold National Qualifier, Agriculture Sales Entrepreneurship 2nd Gold, and Specialty Crop Entrepreneurship 2nd Gold. Evan Ibach- Beef Production Placement 4th Gold, and Alec Ibach Forage Production Placement 5th Gold. Evan Ibach also recived 2nd overall student of the year, conducting a experiment on his herd on pregnancy rates and distiller grains. Natural Resources Speaking: Sara Simmons- Silver, Emily Ibach- Bronze. Cooperative Speaking: Lauren Ibach, 4th Gold.

   Overall it was a fun and exciting experience. Everyone learned from this valuable experience.
